HP Software application specific and recommended operating system patches are installed for you at your site. This includes patches for both the management server and agent related components of the HP Software application. After installation of patches a check will be done to see if the HP Software applications functions properly.
Patches for agent related components of the HP Software application are installed on the management server. You may optionally choose to have HP assist in distributing the patched agent software to the appropriate managed objects.
Onsite Patch Management is a valuable addition to the Enhanced Patch Analysis technical service. With that service, you'll be given a recommendation of HP Software application specific as well as recommended operating system patches to be installed on your HP Software management server.
Onsite Patch Management is not limited to one HP Software application, it can be used for any combination of HP Software products covered by your HP Software Premier Services or HP Software Critical Premier Services* support contract. Additional HP Software Specialist Team Days may need to be purchased to cover additional systems and management servers or to assist in distributing patched agent software to managed objects. |

In order for HP to deliver this technical service, the customer must:
- Ensure that system hardware, software and network connections for the Software management server is fully operational (installed, configured and tested)
- Designate a single staff member who will be responsible for directing service delivery and providing HP with required information and resources in a timely manner; the customer must also designate an operating system and network administrator with centralized responsibility and capable of addressing system and network issues
- Plan appropriately for activities that may require an application or system to be restarted or taken down temporarily
