1. How secure is HP Self-Healing Services?
HP Self-Healing Services uses encrypted HTTP to transfer data to a secure HP system. Only authorized individuals within HP support have access to the information.
2. What will HP do with the information?
The HP analysis system utilizes the information to help define the search for potential solution documents. If a support case is created, HP support engineers will use the information in their initial troubleshooting of the detected problem.

3. How many system resources will be used? How long will it take for the report to become available? What system info is being sent to HP?
The HP Self-Healing client remains inactive until a problem is detected in the log files it monitors or until it is activated manually by the OpenView administrator. Once activated, the client uses minimal system resources to inventory and collect information about the system and OpenView applications. The incident report is usually available 5 to 10 minutes after the data is transmitted. System information collected includes the system type, OS version, memory, running processes, network domain information, certain kernel settings, HP Software applications installed, and HP Software patches installed.
4. Is this a fully automated solution without human interaction?
Problem detection, data collection, transmission to HP, and analysis are fully automated. HP Software administrators must go to the Software Support Online web portal to view the incident report to determine whether the available solution documents will likely resolve the problem. Patches listed in the patch analysis can be manually downloaded and applied to the system by the HP Software administrator as determined by the HP Software administrator, i.e. HP will not automatically download patches.
5. Can I configure HP Self-Healing Services so that I can approve the information before it is sent for analysis?
HP Software Administrators have control over when and if data will be collected and sent to HP. Each error message can be assigned an action of "submit", "hold", "suppress", or "ignore", which determines whether data is collected and when to send it to HP.
