Oracle for OpenView (OfO) version 8.1.7 obsolescence announcement


HP is announcing the version obsolescence for Oracle for OpenView (OfO) version 8.1.7. In June 2005, OfO 8.1.7 customers with an active support contract will be sent a letter or electronic notification providing the most up-to-date OfO 8.1.7 end-of-support information as follows:

  • OfO 8.1.7 Current Product Support will end December 31, 2006
  • OfO 8.1.7 Self-Help Support will end December 31, 2007

HP OpenView Interconnect (OVI) 3.0 and 3.1 version obsolescence announcement


Hewlett-Packard (HP) is announcing the obsolescence of HP OpenView Interconnect (OVI) 3.0 and 3.1. HP support for these products will be provided until July 1, 2005.

HP OpenView Internet Usage Manager (IUM) versions 4.0 and 4.1 obsolescence announcement


Hewlett-Packard (HP) is announcing version discontinuance of HP OpenView Internet Usage Manager (IUM) versions 4.0 and 4.1.

HP support of these products will be provided as indicated by the dates listed below:
  • July 31, 2008: Full Support ends for IUM 4.0
  • February 28, 2009: Full Support ends for IUM 4.1
  • July 31, 2009: Self-Help Support ends for IUM 4.0
  • February 28, 2010: Self-Help Support ends for IUM 4.1

Version discontinuance of HP OpenView Internet Services (OVIS) 5.0
End of sale date extended to August 1, 2005


On March 15 2005, HP announced the discontinuance of HP OpenView Internet Services (OVIS) version 5.0. In the announcement, which was sent to OVIS support customers, we recommended customers to migrate to OVIS version 6.0.

Due to the shipment delay of OVIS 6.0, we have extended the end of sale for OVIS version 5.0 from May 1, 2005 to August 1, 2005. In addition, the new end of Full Support date and end of Maintenance Support date will be November 1, 2005 and July 31, 2006, respectively. HP will continue to provide Self-Help Support until June 15, 2008.

Now Available in EMEA - HP OpenView Business Process Insight (OVBPI) Pilot Implementation Service
June 2005


Since May 1st, 2005 HP OpenView Business Process Insight (OVBPI) Pilot Implementation Service is available in EMEA. This service is offering a competitively priced service to customers who want to understand and experience the benefits of the HP OpenView Business Process Insight technology by monitoring the health of one business process within your organization.

The pilot service includes:
  • 2-month OVBPI valid software
  • Preparation and on-site demo set-up delivery
  • Overall 60-day on-site pilot availability
  • Post-delivery HP Expert e-mail assistance for follow-up questions
An HP expert installs HP OpenView Business Process Insight (OVBPI), configures the product to model the key steps of the business process, and then configures an adaptor to extract business data from the underlying IT systems. The HP Expert then customizes the OVBPI dashboard to display some key metric information, and then demonstrates the product's capabilities. The completed installation and integration work will then be left on site for a further 60 days of use.

Now Available in EMEA - HP Web Application Implementation Service
June 2005


Since May 1st, 2005 HP Web Application Implementation Service is available in EMEA. This service provides a rapid implementation of a variety of HP OpenView technologies focused on web application measurement by experienced HP engineers who will quickly and effectively deploy an operations-ready solution.

This solution, which focuses on web application performance from a health metrics and transactional view, addresses the following:
  • End to End web application performance as viewed from the client in either an emulated or actual mode
  • J2EE or Microsoft technologies application server performance and health
  • Web server performance and health
The Web Application Implementation service provides as a basis, the installation and product set-up of OpenView Transaction Analyzer (V3.0), OpenView Internet Services (V5.2) and Web application set-up to monitor and manage the performance of their web based applications. The base service is fixed price.

A customer may also select a combination of Extended Services in addition to the Base Service that allows extending the implementation to map customer configuration. Their pricing is based on a daily rate evaluated depending on the specifics of what is included in the implementation.

Now available - HP OpenView Radia Patch Notification
May 2005


To sign up for the email notification, please go to http://support.openview.hp.com/email_notifications.jsp. We have four categories posted for the existing patches at this time: Enterprise Desktop Manager, Patch Manager using Radia, Radia Infrastructure, and Radia Management Applications. We will add OS Manager using Radia, Usage Manager using Radia and Radia Adapters in the near future.
