On July 15, 2002, Hewlett-Packard announced its decision to discontinue certain HP Netaction middleware products, specifically the HP Application Server, HP Application Server Resilient Edition, HP Web Services Platform, HP Web Services Registry, HP Core Services Framework and HP Total-e-Server.
HP has selected BEA Systems, Inc., the world's leading provider in application infrastructure software, as its preferred strategic partner for this HP Netaction middleware products migration. Effective immediately, HP and BEA will offer customers a program to migrate to BEA's industry leading application server, its new application development and deployment framework, its award-winning enterprise portal framework, and its integration server-all delivering the most advanced J2EE and Web Services capabilities available.
