Contacting Support

If you have a current support contract for HP Database Archiving, and you require assistance with our product, please email

obt-support@hp.com

Please provide the following information in your email:

  • Version of HP Database Archiving that you are running

  • Type and version of the database that you are using

  • Operating System that Database Archiving is running on

  • The configuration of your installation (Single Instance, Distributed)

  • Description of your problem

  • Any relevant attachments

HP Accounts

In order to access Software Updates, Patches and Documentation for HP Database Archiving there are two accounts that you will need to create - a Passport account and an ITRC account.

To create an HP Passport Account, follow these instructions:

  • go to: http://support.openview.hp.com
  • At the top of the page, click on Register
  • Fill out the required information, and click on Register
  • If you know your SAID, then when the system returns you to the main Software Support Online page:
  • Click on Edit Your Profile at the top of the page.
  • Click on Edit system handle/service agreement identifiers (SAID).
  • If you do not your SAID, then contact support using contact information above for further instructions.

Obtain patches from

http://support.openview.hp.com
  • Click on software patches
  • Enter your HP Passport userid and password
  • Under product, choose Reference Information Manager for Databases - Platform
  • Click on Search. Scroll down to see results.

After you have created your Passport account and linked it to a valid SAID, create an account for ITRC by registering at

http://www.itrc.hp.com

Product Updates

Before attempting to retrieve Product Updates be sure to follow instructions above to create a ITRC account, tie it to a valid SAID. You can obtain product documentation from

http://www.itrc.hp.com

5.1 product updates are in ISO format. If you are not familiar with working with ISO files, contact HP Database Archiving Support using contact information above. To download product updates from ITRC:

  • Click on Software Update Manager
  • Click on download updates
  • Click on the select button to the right of the product that you want to download. There are three files that you should download:
    • a platform specific file for the core software
    • the Apps Pack Media Kit, which is not platform specific
    • the Windows version of the core software in order to install the console client.
  • For each download, click on the Accept button on the next form
  • Click on the download button to the right of the software that you want to download.

Product Documentation

To obtain production documentation, follow the directions for downloading HP software, but choose the Windows XP platform. On the next form, one of the options that you can choose to download is HP Ref Info Mgr DB Platform Media Kit (HP Ref Info Mgr DB Platform/Designer Doc). Choose this option to download the documentation.

Product Patches

Before attempting to retrieve product patches, be sure to create an HP Passport Account using instructions in the HP Accounts section of this page.
