HP OpenView Data Protector and other Storage OpenView Products Move to New Customer Portal

DESCRIPTION
In an effort to provide a seamless support experience for HP StorageWorks products, HP is making some changes to assist in achieving faster solutions for HP hardware and HP OpenView Storage support needs. During the last few months HP has provided announcements regarding this move on the HP Software Support Online (SSO) site. As of Nov 15, 2006, all of the HP OpenView Storage related support documents, patches, discussion forums, and software updates have been aligned with HP hardware documents on the HP IT Resource Center (ITRC) and the HP Business Support Center (BSC) portals.
DETAILS
As with SSO, the ITRC and BSC can be used to search for technical documents for quick problem resolution as well as to participate in forums, log support cases, and download patches for HP OpenView Storage products.
Products transitioned include the following:
- HP OpenView Storage Area Manager (OV SAM)
- Storage Accountant
- Storage Allocater
- Storage Area Manager
- Storage Area Manager DPI
- Storage Area Manager SDK
- Storage Builder
- Storage Node Manager
- Storage Optimizer
- HP OpenView Data Protector
- HP OpenView OmniBack II
- HP OpenView OmniStorage
- Open Spool
- Storage Media Operations
Subscriber's Choice is a subscription service that provides proactive notification on information of interest. All current Software Support Online (SSO) subscriptions for product related information have been moved to the Subscriber's Choice service. To make changes or update subscriptions, access ITRC and select subscribe to security bulletins & patch digests.
HP recommends using the ITRC and BSC portals immediately as all of the HP OpenView Storage support-related documents will be removed from Software Support Online.
- ITRC requires a password that is not the same as the one previously used on SSO. It is now the main avenue to utilize forums, log support cases, and query the knowledge base for historic Engineering notes.
- BSC is now the main access point for all manual, troubleshooting & support documents (including support matrices), and downloading HP OpenView Data Protector and Storage Area Manager patches and device plugins (DPIs).
Please update browsers to: http://www.itrc.com for ITRC access and http://hp.com/support/bsc for BSC access for all future HP OpenView Storage and HP hardware support needs. Software Support Online remains the one stop online support hub for all other HP OpenView needs.
RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively via e-mail through HP Subscriber's Choice. Sign up for Subscriber's Choice at the following URL:
